Mounting a Carpuride screen

Post by Popey » Mon May 13, 2024 4:24 pm

If you see the image I feel this is the optimum position for the screen. Ignore cables it will be hard wired.

Any thoughts on how I could go about this with a tidy looking finish?

I have seen air vents been removed before for a double din conversion. Would you block them off in the dash and let them blow into the dash cavity?

OK, I'll post here too. :D
You can no longer see the flip up screen anyway, so why not look into removing that and fitting the new thingummy up there?
Tbh, at the moment it looks a bit 'bodgeuride'. :D

I run a Sony touchscreen in the radio position. Got a blanking plate with a mount.
Left the vents as they are.
Also I removed my old Nav screen from the dash as it has no use. I replaced with a dash cubby from the X3

I still think I would like to control the DSP settings, I guess you cant have the best of all worlds. I can fully understand why you have done what you have.

Not sure if yours is a head unit replacement from your pictures, I ended up mounting my SPH-EVO62DAB as a replacement for the head unit and leaving the vents above. (The cable has since been routed behind the dashboard to come out by the driver's vent for phone.) The single-DIN fascia I had doesn't fit with this head unit, keep meaning to model & print up something to blank it off but haven't yet bothered.
