If everyone has an ad blocker, will Jim be able to make any revenue from advertising?
I don't know how the 'tech' world works but assuming it will affect his revenue.

Ok, I assure you there is not supposed to be an ad after every post. There is supposed to be an ad after the first post but only for those not logged in (i.e. guest users). I will look into what is happening but sometimes Google has a mind of it's own.

As for what happens if everyone installs an ad-blocker, that's easy... my costs then become more than my revenue and I delete the forum... simple maths, I'm afraid.
OK, ok, I'll click the ads!
And if there's nothing I want to buy I will direct forum members to the 'Donate' button in my signature. :D :D :D

Been OK until today but now there are ads after every few posts. If you can help that would be great.
Thanks
Ian

In that case I won't install an Ad blocker, but I hope you can get rid of all those poxy adverts all the way through threads!
Well whatever sp3ctre did it seems to have worked.

It looks like I spoke too soon - they're back. :headbang:

This 100%. I work in advertising and we’re not the big bad evil stalkers everything thinks we are. Websites, journalism, entertainment isn’t free. Ads pay for almost all of it. No ads, no content, it’s that simple.

Instead of blocking them, maybe just try ignoring them, then this forum, and all that other content you enjoy for free gets to stay free.

They are so clever you are means tested when you log on and you can't afford anything they sell.

This is what I see between each post
Mine are just Temu ads all the way through the thread.
I spent £5.34 with them today and got......a new super dooper watch, some lingerie for the wife, a BBQ, twenty items of clothing and a contraption which is still a mystery to me. :D

New ads are horrible on threads, they’re between every second post. Hosting isn’t cheap but this number of adverts will put members off.

Not to mention those Temu ads seem to consist of women in underwear or tight leather stuff “I am browsing a car forum dear “

Thing is I do click on those in the Title bar and I have bought a number of items directly via adverts on this site. I don't much use the larger internet. Not on FB Twts etc.

I tend to avoid adblockers because they can mess with cashback sites... But these were actually unbearable so has forced my hand.

Each site can be added back which I do for news papers sites, so when it becomes normal I can switch it off for this site.

One here and there is par for the course but multiple ads on every page between posts, it’s a bit much.

I’d rather throw a few quid in the kitty but I imagine that’s not great for encouraging new members and participation in the age of Facebook groups.

I can’t see the problem…

I’m happy to keep the advertisements knowing it support the forum

It's all very annoying having to avert your eyes when images of scantily clad women come on.

Or so I am told
