Hi,
I have a UK car and the comfort access doesnt work on the passenger side.
Has a fault developed or has it never worked on the passenger side. Can someone tell me what theirs does?

I'm sure i've pressed it to lock on that side before. :headbang:

Hi and welcome.
iirc you can set it up in idrive to various parameters, one I think is for it to only lock/unlock the drivers side.

Thank you :D
It was more the ridged thing on top of the handle that doesnt work. I can't lock or unlock on the passenger side

I think Scubaregs is still right, go into your idrive and make sure its set up right.

Thank you for the replies, i've been out and it's set to all doors. Everything looks ok.

Can you confirm that your ridges on the passenger side work then?

Easiest way to tell is to see whether passenger side door handle has touch sensitive locking zoon with those three or four lines, just as driver side handle.

If the handle is the same, then the car should have comfort access on both side. In this case, one thing you can try is to unlock and lock using driver side handle comfort access first. Then, try to use passenger side door handle comfort access and see whether it can then lock and unlock the car.

My car, for a certain period of time, did this. I personally think it's related to power management. I have hard wired the dashcam and it's in constant recording mode, which draws some noticable amount of current from the battery. The car's battery management system does not like any drainage outside its control so it's very keen to shut down things especially when the car hasn't been driven for many days. If I connect the CTEK charger to the car, this then never happen as the car can detect external charger is connected and just monitor all the current flow to update its own power status record.

I had this on my previous e89 when it was just a few months old. It showed up as an error on Carly and requires a new door handle.

Do you have access to a code reader like Carly?

It's got the lines, they just don't work on passenger side.

I tried the code reader and nothing like it came up.
I did the BMW "Request data archive" and it had quite a few errors.
Amongst others:

64,804127 front passenger door
64,804130 Outside door handle electronics
64,804136 Central locking system rocker switch in front passenger door

I have it booked in.

Thank you for your help.
