Hi Guys,
Its been a while since I popped in on here, a house move and only about 1,000 miles since my last MOT.. Anyway either sitting idle, or just bad timing, my Z has started to bong at me telling me there is an issue with the roof. It opens and closes fine, up to the point where sometimes the windows ponder for a moment if they are going to close.
They eventually do, and sometimes with a bit of up and down to sort it out.
As I drive the bong goes off for no apparent reason or uneven surface in the road.
I've just had an MOT which she flew through, so I asked them to do a scan for me. The results of such are:
A690 : Microswitch, Rear - End Module Closed , Left
A696 : Hall Sensor, Open Circuit, Closing Movement, Rear End Module
A698 : Rear End Module Open During Driving
A69E : Speed in Soft-top intermediate position higher than permitted.
A6A4 : Hardtop Operating Unit
I am hoping, its just one of the above triggering the rest, but where do I start?
Anybody near Warminster, that has been through this and may like to lend a hand?
Thanks in advance..

Sounds like the classic; rear (bootlid) microswitches.
Bad connections on the switches (or usually just one) most likely caused by internal corrosion. If you get intermittent making and breaking of either switch, the roof system thinks the boot hasn't closed properly so will flash an error. Same with the windows, if it doesn't think everything is right it won't put the windows up in case it damages something.
There are many threads regarding changing microswitches on here. There is also a thread which gives step-by-step instructions if you want to do it yourself. It is quite straightforward to do and the switches are cheap (around £16 each from BMW dealers).

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

As Pondy said, sounds like Microswitches - same sort of issue I had with mine.

Any idea of the part numbers, or is it just a case of calling them (BMW) and saying hal and microswitch's for e89 roof.
