I think I am certain I will be better later today or tomorrow

So what are they Seamus?

Pink like your suit  although they do a candy apple red which would be good on tap drift car

Stayed with OEM and blue calliper - I have said all along I like to keep cars as OEM as possible so it made sense plus the guy in the shop said to leave them OEM.

Boring and gutless but prob for the best overall

Stick some pics up when it comes back. Interested to see the blue callipers; not the struts though, they're for tarts :P

I may regret it as I do like the black chrome with heavy silver, but there is nothing wrong with the wheels as they are (other than the nicks in them) - they suit the car and hopefully it will sell easier as and when :D

Not finished yet but quite happy so far -

Yuk! :poke:
Never seen orange brake discs before; I think that paint may wear off :poke:

You really should have gone for grey wheels in hindsight :poke: :poke:

Dont f---ing start that nonsense Mr station wagon :poke:  or they will be back over there next week --- not, the silver is ok, got a bit of sparkle in it so a little brighter than OEM

Yeah, I like the orange disc, sets the blue off

To be honest I did think that when I went over there this afternoon, however, the guy said the black chrome does chip and looks crap if kerbed and he thought silver was the best way to go.

That's mostly why I went for Silver Glitter when I had mine refurbed. And because if I scraped one they could match it, whereas with Shadow Chrome (which I really liked) they couldn't guarantee a match because it needs a coat of black and another of silver so the end result might be different. Which might mean having at least 2 re-done for a match on one side!

Yep that was th ether thing he said - would have to do two wheels if one was kerbed

I did say earlier gutless and bottled it - I am happy no matter what as there are no more kerb marks on the wheels anymore  I did almost say OE :D

Still like black chrome and maybe if the car was a different colour such as VO or black

liking the blue calipers - I'm assuming you did that yourself? which paint/colour did you go for?

Hell no, it was done by the garage that did the wheels - here is a pic of the front ones, to be honest when the wheels were off it was an extra £100 all in but the wheels were £60 each oppose to £75.

Total £340 wheels are normally £300  colour wise I think it the same that goes on "M" cars

Picking up an old tread.

I'm about to have my MV3s refurbished. But I'm not sure which colour to go, light or a bit darker.

Besides I'm also thinking of other wheels, the MV3s are ok but a bit boring. However there are very few 18"s that I like. I decided not to go 19".
Any suggestions are welcome :)

On my Z4 I've had 2 different sets of MV3s, one of lighter colour (I borrowed this set for a test) and the current one that seems a tiny bit darker than the other one. Should I go for a lighter colour, the same or even darker colour?

Both sets compared (the lighter one is on E90 and is in the shadow in the picture)

From the photos they look exactly the same! How about going completely different and go for a shade of bronze or gold? Or to be more subtle gunmetal grey?

It's hard to get the difference in a picture. But it can be seen live.

I really can't decide which looks better on particularly my car. Light and shiny or darker grey. Dirty wheels get dark anyway :D and from a few steps away they don't look bad. But when they are clean, they don't look bad again

Here's a picture with test set (light), but the colour here is not real, it's shown too bright. But doesn't look bad again. (Don't mind the circumstances, there was some work to do while wainting for import documentation :D )

Personally I think a Z4 looks best with silver wheels. Mine was Montego Blue with Gunmetal wheels, I was never happy and bought a cheap set of silver wheels and tyres which I prefer, at present I have kept the originals because it’s easy to scuff the rims and when I sell the car I will have a good set to go on it.
