Only company I think I could trust is £600. I just couldn't justify it.
The Stage 1 box is from the same company who make the JB4 and any BMW forum recommends them so in the end, that was my only option.
I'm going to have it rolling roaded before, then fit it and have it tested again to see what the box does. I'm intrigued!

BMS Stage 1 fitted. Feels a decent amount quicker. Boosts harder, a lot more torque and it pulls stronger throughout the rev range. Looking forward to opening it up tomorrow morning, only had a quick blast this evening.
I'm also awaiting the paperwork for my new plate which I can't wait for!!

Car is filthy but I finally have a private registration! I know these aren't to everyone's taste and I wouldn't of spent a lot on one but my parents wanted to get me something I wanted for my 30th, my dad found this for a really good price. N26 for 26th November being my birthday and SPS are my initials so for a relatively cheap plate it's very well suited!

Hi Steve, good to hear you're happy with the tune box, did you get a before & after Dyno run carried out?SteveSmith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 7:44 pm BMS Stage 1 fitted. Feels a decent amount quicker. Not yet, need to get it booked in, I'll unplug it, run it, plug it back in and do another run. I'm not too bothered about the numbers, it's now plenty fast enough for me, I'm just so pleased that it's remained smooth and has kept all of the OEM characteristics there's just more power available.Smartbear wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 6:21 pmHi Steve, good to hear you're happy with the tune box, did you get a before & after Dyno run carried out?SteveSmith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 7:44 pm BMS Stage 1 fitted. I'm considering making it slightly louder. There's not enough exhaust noise at the moment. So 2 options that I can think of, remove centre silencer but retain the original rear silencer or replace rear silencer for something custom made. I'd then have black tips fitted slightly larger than original. Thoughts?

Still have so many things I'd like to do with it and I think I'll be keeping it for a while now. Hoping to get rid of the Mrs's Mini Cooper (3 cylinders just doesn't work) and get here an A45 or RSQ3 so I can then keep the 2 seater!

So, I've started to play with the audio. I've never been happy with it after having some huge installs in previous cars and HK upgrades in more recent cars. I have the standard 6 speaker setup.
I was kindly sent some speakers from a chap on ph who used them in a Z4 (they're from a Mini, bigger magnet etc) ages ago so I finally fitted them to the rear and purchased some MB Quartz 4" coaxials for the front.
All fitted and it sounds worse! I've been advised to give the front speakers some time to loosen up but I can't see how they would sound worse so I've decided to take it somewhere for a proper upgrade.
I'm hoping to sort something out regarding the exhaust this week, whether that's a centre section delete and new tips or a dual system with a new rear diffuser.
The front Splitter is being sorted at the moment.
I'd then like to fit some sort of rear lip spoiler and have it colour coded.
I also need to have the front end resprayed as it's obviously had paint previously and it's not been done very well as it's now peeling

Update on audio upgrade...
I'm going with a set of components in the front, put the coaxials in the rear, fit a 4 channel amp with a 4 channel DSP and an active slim line 8" sub behind the passenger seat.
Hopefully that will be a huge improvement!

It really is. The company I went to have an i8 and they said the HK system in that is terrible!

No idea on your budget but I sat in a BMW estate at the Chatsworth country fair that had got just two 4.25 components and tweets in the doors in the standard locations, 2 slimline subs under the seats, a digital processor and amp, it sounded out of this world, the depth and clarity were amazing for such a simple system. Clearly the gear won’t be cheap but the quality needed to be heard. If I do keep my 35is I’ll be ditching the 14 speaker jobby and go this route.SteveSmith wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2017 8:15 pm Update on audio upgrade...

The issue we have is fitting speakers in the doors. They're so shallow!john-e89 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2017 2:36 pmNo idea on your budget but I sat in a BMW estate at the Chatsworth country fair that had got just two 4.25 components and tweets in the doors in the standard locations, 2 slimline subs under the seats, a digital processor and amp, it sounded out of this world, the depth and clarity were amazing for such a simple system. I'm going for a full MB Quart setup.
It's not silly money but the total spend isn't pocket change either!
I'm confident that what I'm going for will be very good, if not once all the wiring is in I can easily upgrade parts.
The Z4 is never going to be amazing acoustically unfortunately.
