I agree with you entirely ronk - it's all a f*ckfest these days!
I got a good price from CKI on my Z4C in 2016, but when my E46 325ti came up for renewal in April 2017 they quoted me more than for my Z4C? How did they work that out? Allegedly because the 325ti "only" had 9 years No-Claims whereas the Z4C had 19 years!
Never mind, Saga came in way cheaper (I'm old) so that is where I went (although they are probably as rubbish as all the other providers)!
Back in the late 70s I worked for Cornhill Insurance (now part of Allianz) and the maximum entitlement for NCD was 7 years! Windscreen cover was free on comprehensive policies with no excess whether replaced or repaired. NCD protection was FREE if you had 6 years NCD and if you had one fault claim the premium didn't go up, you just lost your protection for a year. Whereas now you get to keep your "protection" that they charge you for (WHY), but still get stung with a loading instead!
General Insurance seems to be populated entirely by quote-monkeys with a script and no F*cking idea of what they are doing! (And I'd include our "Forum provider" in that description).

Coupes because stunning!
