UNDISGUISED Shot of the New Z4

Not seeing enough in this picture to say if I like it or I don't like it. The front grills do look a bit weird shaped like on the new 7 series, and front bumper seems to have the ugly contours like on the face-lifted E90.

But I think it's safe to say that from all the spy picture & then this undisguised picture, the E89 doesn't make the E85 look dated. BMW could've offered both the E85 & E89 in their line-up at the same time and you wouldn't think the E85 is a 7 year older design.

You're hard. I like the nose, I like the wheels. What's that guy doing, hiding the roof? I read that the picture was taken on the set of a movie featuring the craddle robber Michael Douglas.

I don't like the snout, as others have said, very often when BMW releases a new version I don't like it and prefer the predecessor, eventually the new one starts to look better, I'm going through this at the moment with the current 3 series, I didn't like it at first but is slowly growing on me. I guess we'll only know for sure when we see one in the flesh

Only thing I would say is that they have made the styling more conventional. I do actually prefer the one I have and it's not just because I own one. Also how big/long is that rear end going to be?

Okay, I'll admit that butt looks much better than expected (note: first two mods = de-badge + stubby... amazed BMW hasn't found a way to lose the whip-like antenna). But the true test will be seeing one on the showroom floor. And the requisite test drive, of course.

Looks like it's going to feel a bit fat, imo, like the TT. Makes sense given the Z2, shame though.

Problem with buying one will be that you will get 0% discount on the new model, and trade in value of your "Old" car will be next to nothing as well. "Upgrading" will be prohibitively expensive I would say.

If that rear shot is the real deal and not overly stretched and squashed from the photo then it looks very pleasing

I'm with pvr though. They will command full price, zero discount and not want your existing Z4 at all, so the price to trade will be unreasonable and for 6 months it will be a case of accept whatever the dealer gets in his allocation with whatever it does or does not come with.

Still I'll be there for a close look and test drive soon after launch.

I like bits of it. The nose is nice and shark-like but the rest of the body seems to have matured from the old model. Listen to that 'the old model' argh!

Anyway the sides have some real traditional roadster lines and will appeal a lot to older buyers. Which as we all know are the people that generally have the cash sat in the bank for weekend toys.

I do still prefer elements of the original model though. Jarring lines have always appealed to me and the smoothed SLK'ness of this model isn't quite as badboy/tearaway enough for me. Im not old enough to see refined as something to be interested in yet.
