I thought he had left it to others to bastardize his beautiful original design.

So riddle me this: instead of upgrading and re-designing the Z4, will BMW just upgrade to a "Z5" nameplate instead?

Re: Official "New Z4" design process pics
Unlike the last z4 where most models were the same, so in 06 the facelift was clear to see. now the new zd has several different bumper arrangements its hard to see if a change has been made. LED front lights above the main cluster which looked like it should have been fitted in the first place is not the same as the previous mid facelift.

Sweet pix. I wonder, will the next model just be a new generation of the Z4, or perhaps it'll be called the Z5?

Re: Official "New Z4" design process pics
The Z4 is by far BMW's least popular car, I think another post here showed that even the i8 is more popular in the US. It'll always be on the back burner and isn't the type of car you buy to then replace every 2-3 years. The good thing is that it seems to always be designed ahead of its time, when I first saw the e89 I thought it looks very odd but now I obviously love it.BackBlade wrote:Sweet pix. Just saw this article in automotive news: BMW hopes to replace Z4 before 2020
http://www.autonews.com/article/2015030 ... efore-2020
What caught my attention: BMW apparently only sold about 7500 Z4s last year. Also, convertibles are subject to consumer trends, which do not seem to be favorable right now.
