HELP! Park brake stuck (complete with warning light)

The official way to release the EPB... Not sure what you intend to do though, as there is obviously a serious (in the cars view) fault that is unlikely to clear just by removal. You need access to a decent OBD Diag/Coding system like the Delphi VCI which allows diags, operation and coding.

Anyway, as you wanted to know:

Remove the actuators from both sides, fairly easy to do...

This then allows you to access the back of the caliper, take note of the warning though!:

I have about two hours until a truck comes to pick up the car. Any tip here appreciated...

As per my post and Gaz's post you either need diagnostics to remove the brake or to remove the back wheels and manually remove the brake. This is the only way. There is no release inside the car, it's a manual spindle release at the wheels.
 
There is no point in dismantling the centre console, if you have a check control message and a locked out parking brake. If the switch was at fault, it would simply not work, it is unlikely to throw an error. If you have access to an advanced diagnostic system, you could override the error, clear the fault codes and reset the EPB. You could then run through the full maintenance process to unwind and reengage the EPB actuators.

Gone are the days of simply lubricating a seized cable, slave cylinder or caliper, unless you own a "less advanced" vehicle. :poke:
 
Got picked up last night at about 9pm. Had to put wheels under the wheels.

I've got a problem tonight . I entered car this evening handbrake on but a yellow light came on saying brake . I drove of but the yellow lights remain and I've no handbrake . Called bmw assist car has gone on a low loader to dealer for inspection . Im hoping it's covered under approved used car warranty ??

Should be. I assume you've got the fully comply cover so unless you've been fiddling or haven't had it serviced in line with what bmw want then I see no issues.
