Vanne's lightweight/ interior modification thread

yep, thanks, its a by product actually, a very welcome one at that, but a by product non the less..

The main goal was to have the front nose/splitter/bumper (which is all one piece) to be quick release for getting onto the trailer after a session. i kinda figure that if it takes me 5 minutes to disconnect the nose/splitter combo, thats still quick release in my book. As the car is so low, it wont be going anywhere with the nose/splitter on, including the trailer. The splitter here works a little different too, its not just a flat piece of carbon, but actually an inverted aerofoil. which, ontop of the dynamic px onto of the splitter, should create a lift vector towards the ground on the underside of the splitter...

ofcourse this is all in theory, ...

Looking great Vanne! That is going to be a cracker of a car 8) You are correct on the inverted aerofoil theory in that the local aerodynamic expansion should yield downforce!

what do you have to with the suspension to achieve the track width change?

It's stuck in Holland at my brother's house. I can't ship it to Dubai as freight costs have gone up triple. So unless I get a flight over there,I'll need to wait till Corna fucks off.. not that thats gonna happen soon.

So yeah untill I can get the dash here, I'll be using this one..

After slogging it out in 45 plus degrees, finally got the nose/splitter on.

Awesome! Look how far the wheel is in the arch too! Really shows off just how wide the kit is!

Thanks guys, i know is taking for ever.. I really appreciate the feedback/comments.

Liam, the hood isnt closed in that picture, its actually amazing how well this kit fits together. But it quite difficult to make everything line up properly.

RedUn, Yea , its gonna be wide... the arms i have for the front and rear push the hub out by 12mm, thats no where near enough, though will depend on how the front wheels sit once bolted on. I think ill be loosing most of the headlight as the wheel will probably hit them from behind when turning.. not exactly sure how thats gonna work out, but the whole car is pretty much custom now, chopping the headlights will be no biggie. LOL

And.... Looks like the Vac race box will be up for grabs...

.. fark ...!!!

Are ESS selling the VT2 kit for the Z4M again? I tried to buy it directly from ESS a couple of months ago but they were having problems with their suppliers as a consequence of the pandemic. You've linked the E46 M3 VT2 kit, so do you plan to fabricate any parts required to make it compatible with the Zed?

Lol wrong linkage.. it's the z4m version.. nfi
Good stuff. Let us know when ESS confirmed they have all the parts needed for the kit, I’m keen to order it too

ahh, no worries, i bought mine slightly used from the US as it was removed from the car before selling. So its just the hardware, Josh from Servern will be tuning it for me.

That was a good purchase - I’ll be kicking myself if ESS don’t sell the set up for our cars again.

fingers crossed, i still have to ship the unit from the US.. lol already ordered a new oil change kit and air filter for the SC. Its starting to cool down here in DXB, ill be starting work on the car probably by next weekend..

If you change you mind and want to direct it onward to Sydney, I’ll happily look after it for you!
