Haha! Yes, we should all come to you and have some fun on the Autobahn.

So if the cables are faulty, I see that another member on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=108814 replaced them with: chainflex® control cable CF9 CF9.05.02 (2 wires 0.5mm2) and CF9.03.05.INI 52 wires 0.34mm2)

So I guess I should buy something similar or do you have other suggestions?

Is there an upgrade to the OEM cables and lines that you could recommend? I'm not afraid of DIY-ing, I did the con-rod bearings on my own.

Any good quality hose supplier will be able to make copies of your hoses, just remove and take them in.

This sounds like a lot of work. Too bad I'm an essential worker and I can't spend time with her right now...

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll gather the supplies and approach this slowly after spending more time looking at the documentation.

The new microswitches come with new wiring, as they have different connectors to the old versions.
I had a microswitch replaced at BMW and they replaced some of the wiring loom.

I believe it is more resistant to cracking than the original version, has a little more flex in it.

So, to upgrade the wiring on the arms, you will need new microswitches. Cost about £190 from BMW when I had one replaced.

Thank you for all the advice. I believe I'll attempt to find the broken wires for now and maybe have a go at the hydraulic lines later on.
