Firstly, I used to press the fob twice and the window would lower when I open the door. What have I switched off!!?? ???
Secondly, I'm fed up of wet windscreen in the morning. No wet in floors or boot. But the roof tin under the lining is wet/damp.
Why is this , any other ideas why windscreen is wet ?
It's a 16 plate e89.
Thanks all ..

I thought you had to hold down the button for the windows to open or maybe that was the roof.Portisz4 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 11:01 pm Firstly, I used to press the fob twice and the window would lower when I open the door. What have I switched off!!?? ???

No, if you double click , the window will drop right down on entry.
Seems to have stopped

Double clicking the button should lower the front window by about 50% when you open the door. There is a reset you can do I think...do a search.
Have you treated the windscreen-to-roof seal with anything recently? Try a dose of silicone-based rubber/ vinyl treatment (I use AutoGlym but Gummipflege is the gold-plated stuff) on the rubbers. It softens them and is waterproof. Amazing the difference it can make between water getting in and not.
It's a good idea to do all the rubbers with it on a regular basis, as moisture can get into the smallest of gaps. There are about 3 miles of rubber seals on an e89 though!

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

To #1:
This is a feature of the car, that was bought by the initial owner as an extra. Nothing else!
And you other guys except of the OP should know that!

I am presuming the OP is talking about the window lowering half way when opening the door with a double unlocking click, for ease of access.

Correct.
Interestingly there is a difference between the German and the UK manuals. In the German manual there are 3 options explained, in the UK version only 2 different ones. But I'm pretty sure, this features exists in your cars as well: "Comfort opening
When the door is opened, the window is lowered to make it easier to get in."
It makes sense, if there isn't enough space to open a Z4 door in a parking garage etc. Pressing the key FOB twice lowers the window by 50%, you can get easier into or out of(!) the car. It finally raises the window automatically after closing the door.
As said, it's a feature, not a mysterium.

I've figured it out.
There are several settings in the car settings menu. It needs to be in comfort acces mode.
Then the window will come down on two presses of the fob button
