ZHP Short Shifter

So I installed new leather around the 6 speed shifter in my 2003 e85. When I removed the short shifter knob (labeled as 'M'... ZHP), I thought it seemed a little light weight - so I took it to the kitchen scale. To my surprise, I found out that the shifter is a knock-off that was passed off to me by the previous owner as genuine! The thing only weighs about 85g and (correct me if Im wrong) but I beleive the OEM ZHP short shifter should come in at about 154g.

Now Im on the hunt for a genuine ZHP 6 speed short shifter. Before I go to BMW Canada, I thought Id post a wanted ad here and see what comes up. Also looking for parts to return stereo system to stock but I'll go over that in another post.

Genuine ones seem to be about £75 on Ebay if you don't manage to find one. I bought mine in 2017 for £57.00 on Ebay but it came from a UK BMW dealer.

A real ZHP gear-knob is way much better than the OE part so good luck finding one.

I just bought one from BMW after a couple of attempts with the eBay jobs which promised to be weighted and were really not. Also the eBay ones tend to be smaller in size. I paid about usd 65 from BMW. Seemed cheap but there it is. Much better product. Just do it.

Recently bought a bmw replica one which is weighted and shorter. Feels much nicer in the hand and really helps the shift.

Not yet - I was just going to go to a BMW dealer here in Canada. I believe the part number for a ZHP 6 speed knob is 25117896886
