Just before I buy a new one, I wondered if anyone has an old ZHP gear knob kicking about they'd be willing to part with?
Thanks,
Harry

Sounds odd but I'd almost prefer a used one for the patina  Always thought new bits of trim look odd in an otherwise lived in car.

Cheers for that, still undecided if it’ll fit or look ok on the E89. I think I read on here somewhere about there being a small issue with the top of the gator and I don’t want it to look either rubbish or untidy.

I can answer that. It does fit the E89 and although there's a very slight protrusion it's hardly noticeable and I think you can trim it back if it bothers you. It looks/feels a nicer shape than the standard M Sport one, although it's not heavier, they weigh about the same. I believe the ZHP is a fair bit heavier than the standard/SE spec one though.

Excellent, I had considered a Stormwerks aluminium one but quite a few people commented about how cold it was in the winter and I intend using the car roof down as often as possible.
I’ve not got an M Sport so I think it would be quite a noticeable difference and I’ll justWhen the M badge police are about.
Did I read somewhere that the gator is attached to the original one and needs to be separated before removing the existing one?
Thanks very much for helping me with today’s unnecessary spend:rofl: this bl00dy forum just encourages you to spend money you didn’t intend too!!

Glad to be of service!Yes you do have to use a screwdriver to separate the old knob and gaiter. Im a little hazy on exactly how you do it, I did it back in Feb. Just follow the instructions in the thread, it's what I did!
