Just a heads up if anyone's thinking of getting one or who to call. I rang Sopers BMW 01522 681680 and dealt with a guy called Scott, he knew of the forum etc......£56 for it inc delivery. Nice guy, good service

Why is it better than stock?
To me it feels nicer, and makes the throw a little shorter as it is not as high.
Mainly though I think it looks a lot better... my one is the illuminated version from the F10 M5 but looks pretty identical to zhp.

I bought one because I was bored and it was raining...pretty much. Heard they were better than stock so thought I'd give it a try

The difference can be seen in my before and after pics from when I fitted mine

the zhp version weighs twice as much as the original, it seems to smooth out the recalcitrant 1st-2nd throw with its extra mass :driving:

How much time does it take to fit the new knob? Is this something I could do (my DIY skills are non existent). If not how much would fitting cost at a specialist?

Sounds like a nice mod as I have found the Z4M shift lacking compared to an S2000 I used to own. Now that had the best shift I have ever experienced.

Less then 30 seconds. It just squirts off with a nice hard tug on the knob.
