Zed has attracted lots of attention this week - Good & Bad

On the whole my time in the Zeds have been exceptional without the feeling or utterance of negativity towards me and the car. The Phoenix Yellow, my first Zed was an attention magnet, guys would just stop, stare and say gorgeous and yes I know they were talking about the car, gorgeous I am not.

However the best compliment I had was just after getting the current zed on a forum drive, top down in a convoy of other zeds on a private country road, a gaggle of boys on bikes were eyeing the zeds as they rode past, they got to mine, one turned to the rest and said looking at mine, nah that's the nicest

Sat waiting in traffic on my way home from work with the roof down (obviously), the car next to me as I pulled away shouted "you ball bag".. I found this highly amusing, and even better when they pulled up next to me at the next set of lights, both driver and passenger with eyes fixed on the road ahead.

I'm not worried what they say, its if they throw stuff that worries me. I'm sure people on here have had things thrown at the car with the roof down.

Never had any adverse reactions, only positive ones.

I have had white van drivers attempt to race me away from traffic lights, why I can't understand, it's not as if they have any chance!

It's like shooting fish in a barrel - not much fun when its that easy! Who am I kidding. I show them the error of their ways every time.

I never got compliments or abuse when I had mine and I'm glad on both counts. I was always a bit self conscious driving with the roof down. I had a friend who had a TVR Tuscan convertible and he was spat at and had rubbish thrown into the car at the traffic lights on a regular basis. He did have a pony tail at the time though so deserved it.

I once had a water truck coming the opposite direction suddenly open his side outlet in my direction. We were both proceeding slowly through some road works. In retrospect, he probably knew exactly how much throw he had, and wanted to just give me a good scare. It worked! Ended up missing the car entirely by just inches!

When I was washing my zed the other day. there were a load of people posting leaflets and one of the younger ones started to sing 'it's just a mid life crisis'
I was quick at thinking something as a reply 'he was a leaflet boy.she said see you later boy' but I didn't say it because they might have come back later and damaged my zed!

Sometimes it can pay to keep your gob shut ! :lol:

All good round here.
A lot of people seem intrigued as the recognize the basic Z4 shape but can't quite see it in coupe form.

I did have one guy say the back has exactly the same lines as his Trumph GT6!
However I do kind of get that one.

Unwanted attention consists of every kid around Stoke in a Clio or Punto wanting to race at every set of lights.
Sometimes I don't, but sometimes I do (within the legal framework governing the roads of course )

The wife was livid at the market yesterday. She'd seen some to$$er deliberately slam his bag of groceries or whatever into the passenger side door. She moved in for the kill (she likes the Zed too) and the pitiful little b*stard legged it and drove off. I was still in the store at the time and just missed it, but she was seriously PO-ed. Fortunately there was no damage at all, that we could determine. Pretty unusual in these parts, but it does happen. Jealousy, as someone said.

Jeez I'm glad I don't drive a Ferrari. I'd be too scared to park the thing anywhere!
