Zed becomes the DD

Just sold the DD to WBAC and so the Zed now becomes our only car.
Not ideal really, but couldn’t justify running 2 cars, particularly as Lady Marlon doesn’t drive and we both work in the centre of Preston (The daily commute is just under 4 miles return so it’s not going to pile on the miles). I’ve been scouting the best parking bays all week :)

A word about my experience with WBAC: As expected the online quote of £1,800 wasn’t what I was offered on the day. After an inspection of my 2007 Hyundai i30 I was offered £1,300. The reason given was alloys needed a refurb. (which was true - they were badly tarnished) and some body pannels required respraying (questionable imo). Anyway I said £1,500 was my bottom line and ended up settling for £1,475. So if you are considering WBAC, be prepared to haggle.
 
You always get low balled on the day by them.

If you want max cash private. Fast cash WBAC or sell to a garage.

Under 2 miles each way... :o
I wouldn't use the car for that - it'll never warm up.

Even if I've misread it and it's under 4 miles each way, I still wouldn't use the car, I'd buy a scooter or similar as they're much easier to park in a town centre

I'm pass on your 'Scooter' advice to the missus who likes arriving at work immaculately dressed with all the makeup and hair :cry:

Did you list the wheels as having so scratched on the online system. If so how can they deduct more?

Did you list the wheels as having so scratched on the online system. If so how can they deduct more?

No, the only online info I gave was MOT, mileage, number of previous owners. I was ready for a sting on the alloys - one of the reasons I decided not to go through all the hassle of a private sale was cos of the state of the alloys.

I live about 2 miles from work and own 2 cars well will be soon when the M140i turns up so one car for each mile :) just do a nice long detour on the way home :driving:

Slippery slope there Marlon, first the daily goes because it is redundant. Then the Z roof can not be opened due to reasons mentioned above about hair etc, then as the roof is never open - may as well get a comfortable small car as the Z is quite difficult to get out of and creases the clothes … :lol:

Fortunately Lady Marlon loves the Zed as much as I do. One car had to go and she said the Zed's going nowhere :) The commute to work has to be in comfort for the lady, but come the weekend she's the first to say roof down :driving:
 
Probs a good idea to do another oil change between services to help combat the condensation in your motor Marlon.
Lucky man you are to have a bimmer loving missus.Mine is the same and bought me an old 318i to replace our aged DD!
