I replaced my rod bearings at 50k purely as this car is a keeper and I wanted peace of mind. Plus for future resell value it’s going to help

There were absolute signs of wear and copper which made me happy I’d done it BUT would it have been a catastrophic failure at some point? Who knows

The rod bearing on the S54 will always divide people. I personally don’t feel it’s that big of an issue. Good luck your search

I am happy to know that I will never have to get that done again, as with the mileage I do and with the strict warm up regime, they should not cause any future issues.
