I'm no owner of an M/// but the Alpina has the old nasty steering of the E85, and its brakes, and no limited silp diff, and similar suspension.

The M/// is the real deal with hydraulic steering, good steering geometry, good suspension components, better brakes..... etc, etc.

But the Alpina has the great front and rear spoilers.

I wait to be flamed.

No flaming from me! Front suspension is different to standard. M drivers seem to update their brakes anyway. Steering is fine and geometry is a simple 4 wheel alignment away. Mine was aligned to M settings (by accident, the centre couldn't find the Alpina settings) and i'll admit it transformed the driving experience. The only reason there is no facelift is BMW did the dirty on Alpina

On the upside, much better fuel economy, exclusivity and no M tax on inspection 2

Performance is similar but they are very different characters

I used to think that my E85 steering was "OK" until i drove the M/// forget about the power and all that, just the precision and feel of the steering. Thats what make the biggest difference between the EPS steering and the hydraulically assisted steering of the M///.

From that point on, i knew the steering could be improved upon.
