Must resist temptation to go non-coupe......
.....are they a PITA if outside in all weathers (not using a garage at the moment), does hood need a lot of maintenance?

Seems like a rather inflated price for this time of year even for a dealer
I think he would bite your hand off as a cash sale at 13,5 k
If he didn't then wait for the next bus if you're not in a rush

Car books at 10,25 k so do the math

I'm just down the road from James Paul, never bought from them, but have taken a couple of test drives whilst I was looking for my Coupé and they are top blokes who seem fairly knowledgeable.

I'm not really up to date on roadster prices so won't comment on that, but to even think about using the book price on these cars is a bit silly imo. You'll end up letting plenty of perfect cars slip away, the Z4MR and MC don't follow their book prices. I'm sure the MC's book price has gradually fallen over the past 2 years, but their real world selling prices certainly haven't.

I do like that. Not a fan of all black in a small cabin but with doesn't seem so bad in the roadster. Shame that the only option is has is the one I'd prefer it not to have - the crappy looking satnav stuck on top of the dash.

Open the roof and you have a huge cabin

You can say what you like about book price but I wouldn't pay anything more than 10 per cent over book on any car even from a dealer . So for me that means realistically it's priced to sell at no more than 12,5 ,perhaps 13,0 k if it's top spec and with a an impeccable history with all the usual suspects been properly sorted . Ask the dealer to show waht he bought it in for ,that's what I did with mine and then rang the previous owner to verify what he sold it for .

Exactly why I would be more inclined to accept a black interior in a roadster.

Regarding pricing, I don't see even private sellers selling 45k mile cars for <12.5k, or at least advertising them at less than that. The book values become less accurate for more rare cars IMO, better for more common cars. However, it's a good tool for bargaining with I do agree as you have proven:).

When you confront a dealer with the hard facts wrt what he bought the car in for ,then he can either admit he's being plain greedy or do the deal at a fair price where he's still making money on it . I find it hard to believe any dealer will pay much more than book for any car taken in as px and then you have factor in the money he also made on the other car he was selling .So it's a win win for the dealer at both ends . It sounds that this dealer is being greedy but that's the nature of then species in general .
