Z4MR - hot start problems

I had a problem today where I drove the car for about an hour, stopped and switched off and about 10 mins later tried to start it, but all I got was a "click" sound from the engine bay, starter motor wasn't turning at all. The oil temperature was at 100deg C at the time. I let the car cool for about 10 more minutes, and when I tried to start it it started normally.

I repeated this whole exercise when I got home, i.e. switched off, tried to start, nothing, left it to cool for a while and started with no fuss.

I am going to take it in next week, but any ideas on what may be the problem?

possably a faulty starter solenoid or even a loose or dirty battery terminal

I'm having the same issue. Already replaced the starter and IVM via the local BMW dealership. They have no idea what's wrong

Could it be a faulty heat sensor? That would stop everything wouldn't it?
