Z4MC Owner Says a sad goodbye...Until Next Time!

No plans for a direct two seat replacement.

considered
Jag XFR, Alpina B5, M3s......but not desperate.....yet :?

some of us have been here for a long while i can't lie if i had the right offer id sell mine ( everything is for sale at the right price) , but id only put the money in the bank or spend it on my house as i don't feel i can afford the car i want to replace it, i think alot of the sellers will look back with regrets.... this one is a keeper if you can. What i really don't get is the people that sell after like 6 months or less, that rings alarm bells in my head personally but i guess everyone situation can change and a car like this is a definite luxury!

Many see the M car like a 911 or Aston in that they want to experience it rather than own it forever . They go all in & commit a sizeable amount of money that once the novelty wears off can prove hard to justify especially so if bought as a weekend luxury as opposed to daily driver .
I had a similar urge for 911 ownership 6/7 years ago & did the same , bought, enjoyed & ultimately sold to use the funds for a property renovation . The current M car i have is no different , i wanted to try it , am thoroughly enjoying every moment & mile but at some point , probably next spring if the right project comes along
Its life for most who aren't financially salted but at least those who have owned then sold have also enjoyed

I have never really kept any car over 12 months...There has been the odd exception, but as a rule about a year.

I like to own them, mod and personalise them and then sell on,hopefully the process will have cost little or no money in ownership. My cars have to be used daily,so i cant keep money in them by keeping pristine or low miles..

Doing this means you can experience all kinds of cars without it costing bundles,if you did the same every 3 years i dare say it would cost a lot in depreciation.
Sometimes you even make some money......Which is even sweeter

You selling?

Though about it, something like a VX220 Turbo or an Elise, but I think I would regret it. For the time being it's here to stay, but it's interesting to watch the prices from one source.

I bought mine during a time when I could afford to pay for the car in full, no finance, soak the cost, it's mine. That time won't last, but now that the car is paid for, the on-going costs are definitely a factor to think about. I just had the road tax renewal letter come through and I'm not gonna lie, I winced, the first 6 months tax was wrapped up in the car sale so the prospect of parting with £260 every 6 months as well as insurance and servicing costs means that this car could end up in the garage to be preserved. Unless I personally fall on extremely hard times I wouldn't want to sell it if I don't have to. SORN it, garage it, and be that guy in 30 years time who has a mint old classic!

Yes I got my tax through as well: £505 pa.

Its not the costs that are the concern for me as such, I will need more space, and I don't have space for the Z4 + another vehicle.

Will possibly looking at a C63 estate, RS4 or Discovery 4 at some point, but no idea what I will end up with. Im in no rush!
