hi, does anyone here have sticky handbrake sometimes ?is it just a strip and clean an reassemble , and is the handbrake of the disc / drum type or on the disc,also do the pistons need a wind back tool or just a g clamp, many thanks
 
Not a common problem
Handbrake is drum shoes operating on the inside of the rear discs 'tophat'.
Calipers are just push back.

Adjustment is via a bolt hole with the wheel removed.
Loosen the handbrake off, remove the disk and you'll see the mechanism.
 
thanks for that info jeeper, sounds like a sunday morning job , good opportunity to clean inside of wheels properly and calipers and hubs too whilst freeing up and checking all's well. thanks again :thumbsup:

Just seen the 'M' in your model designation. Might be different so get an ///M owner to confirm.

Yes, it's the same.

Although mine sticks if I put it on after a long run. Sometimes it's like the wheels have seized.

Now I just park it in gear and leave the handbrake off.
 
Ye when parking up in the garage mine used to stick and it was a pain as my garage is very narrow and obv quite a lurch forward so leave the handbrake off and stick it in 1st.

Are you talking about the handbrake? I can see pads getting wet and perhaps binding, or minor surface rust just holding hem on, but the handbrake shoes are inside drums so would not get wet and if they did you could only dry them by driving something like 100m with the handbrake partially applied.
