Yes that's right, I worried about that as well however figured it had probably been sat in someone's garage over winter unused. I can assure you it drives fine.
How long ago did you buy it? I'd be querying that with them, personally! That can't have been sold as AUC when it's gone over 2 years for a service TWICE surely?
It was bought under auc scheme from Williams Liverpool in January this year. I am visiting BMW tomorrow so will double check the situation but they have already changed the drivers door seal and reset the windows under warranty, so assume all is well.
I spoke with BMW today, they confirmed the car is covered under the AUC warranty until January 2014.
They are only concerned when people have exceeded the mileage rather than missing the 2 years by a few months (granted one is 6). However I feel that the nature of this car being what it is, it is highly likely the car wasn't used and was probably stored. They are currently changing the Nav GPS aerial under warranty with no quibbles.
Please let me know if anyone is interested ASAP as I have found a car I am interested in and am after getting rid quickly. Obviously I would rather it go to a forum member than BMW pocket the profit on it
I hope you have found something fun!
I would be interested to hear what BMW have offered you? I had a similar situation with my 135i when I sold it last month. After some time trying to sell it I decided to return it to BMW. I took the price BMW offered me, added £50 for listing fees etc and then put it up for sale. It obviously sold quickly as it was a good price. The new owner and I were happy, the only people missing out of a nice juicy profit was BMW.
