Z4M tail light on a normal Z4

Good day all,

I smashed my tail light on the right side on my 2004 Z4 Roadster, I found a supplier that has tail lights from a Z4M 2004 for a very good price. I just wanted to know if anyone knows if they'll fit without any issues.

Is there a part number on the back of the light or something whether it's the same part or not?

Thanks in advance, I'm going to try and learn to drive properly in future.
 
apart from the fact they didnt do a Z4M in 2004?!

all roadsters use the same taillight shape.

M's are clear. clear/red interchangeable.

Coupe's use a longer unit but again M and non-M interchangeable
 
Thanks gannet, I appreciate you getting back to me on this. I'm sure the guy at the parts place is just trying to sell it so he said it was the same year.

So if I understand you correctly if it's from a roadster it'll fit but it won't fit if it's from a coupe?

What about the new roadster lights they look cool I think, would that fit? Or should I just stick to the normal ones?
 
Mark,

you need to remember it is not only the light you need to consider, but also the bumper.

the E89 lights won't fit your 04 car,as the same with facelift 06-09 lights, won't fit your car, unless you change your bumper.

RealOEM shows same part numbers for face lift rear lights for E85 and E86, so there is no difference between roadster and the inferior coupes

not sure how that works - it's a different shape :?

unless my eyes are deceiving me...
 
Gannet... I think the OP was talking about the rear light cluster, not the 3rd brake light....
