Hi All

Does anyone have a Z4M S54 clutch alignment tool I can borrow
The BMW one looks like it has not go any splines on it
But the ones for other BMW's on the web have
All the ones I can find are not for the Z4M gearbox as it has 22 splines the spigot bearing is 15mm ID

They look like this

Thanks Paul

Do you have a 3d printer or know someone who has? I designed and 3d printed my own so can send you the STL if need be?

Sadly not

£30 from BMW so not too much money but for 10 mins use once or twice in the cars life time.

What kind of clutch are you going to install?
Because that clutch alignment tool is not suited for every type of clutch.

The problem is that the z4m has (stock) a SAC.

A TTV clutch and light weight flywheel

Have ordered one from BMW will see if it works if not may have to have one made, my current job does not have a lathe so will have to find some one to make me one, if it comes to that.

I assume that's not a self adjusting clutch?
For the self adjusting clutch you need a special short alignment tool that you can extract with a bolt or something like that

When I installed my Sachs RE clutch, I just made a temporary alignment tool up from I believe 2 sockets (one that fits in the pilot bearing and one that fits in the clutch) and made them fit into eachother with some tape or so.
No big deal 5 min work. It worked better than my universal adjustable clutch tool.
And I even have a lathe

15mm copper piping with some tape wrapped round to match the inner size of the clutch disc, or as above, make something with sockets.

Nothing fancy required 😊.
