So it being the off season, I took my car today to the shop, with a boot full of parts and what-have-youse..

doing new lightweight single flywheel clutch (semi dry clutch, Duke style, complete with Duke sounds) with HD race clutch and px plate. New Luk throwout bearing, and new rear caber arms by RE. Also new CAE rear diff mount bushes (Poly 75) and a rear diff complete over haul... :tumbleweed:

New OEM RCABS with Turner Limiters.. (why OEM I hear you say? I had polly 75 in there last season, and I preferred the feedback (read looseness) from the OEM rubber.)

been a while assembling parts, hopefully I wont get a heart attack when I see the rebuild bill.

pics to follow...

part numbers thx to Mcast.

ive read quite afew scary things about our engines and LW flywheels, namely, they dont seem to get on well......

Yeah I've read those too, but I've also heard some good stories.. either way, it will be different. My buddy Gonzales removed his LW flywheel due to the chatter, his being a daily, mine isn't, so hoping for good things.

Quick heads up, the part number of the lw flywheel is wrong, that's for z3m fitment. Ask me how I know. Clutch plate will fit both flywheels, but the pressure plate won't.

The correct part for the flywheel is 520-180-240

And the TYPMF240 /883082999792 pressure plate is about 4 mill to big for this fitment. :headbang:

I am thinking it's supposed to be 883082001243

Chatting to Turner atm in regards to sorting the correct pressure plate. Which I am thinking is the one that bolts up to stock pressure plate/ or the 883082001243. which fits with the 520-180-240 FW.

Lots of guys , as beedub has mentioned talk about drivability issues with the racing clutch kit. turns out a lot of the race teams run a stock pressure plate with this setup as it makes the car easier/better to drive.

The solution we are looking atm is bolting new FW and new racing clutch plate with the stock pressure plate together.

keep you posted.

on the upside, new RE X-pipe installed! :w00t:

Ok its confirmed by Dean from JB flywheels, its the e46 m3 pressure plate that fits, so 883082001243 is it. The other one as though IS for the Z3M s54.
Sorting out return freight atm. :paper:

In the meantime weve bolted up the stock pressure plate and holy cows... what a difference.. :sorcerer:
Lol Clutch....

Yeah big fuckup with Turners, they put the Z3m pressure plate in my basket, so on checkout they sent me that. It all depends on which flywheel you have, mine 520-180-240 onlyfits with stock px plate or the 883082001243 plate. return going on in progress, trying to sort out a fair go in regards to shipping costs for the return/resend.

2 things come to mind...

1. its bloody noisy!!! :attentionwhore:
2. the pickup is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! really love it.. nfi about gains or losses, but the pickup really is THAT much different! :crazydude:

not sure if its the rebuild rear end or just the xpipe/clutch combo, but yeah no regrets... LOVEIT!! :trampoline:

Xpipe nicely installed, and clutch dropped again to swap the Sachs race pressure E46 M3 plate back in.
