What about a Evolve airbox group buy? :driving:

close enough? !

Shame they seem to have sporadic build quality but then as ever, you get what you pay for.

I'd love an evolve box but i simply could not run one with the issue they are having with heel and toe. I'm also sceptical about running anything without accurate load measurement. Even with compensation tables that i assume reference the barometric sensor in the ecu, i'm just not convinced it will be suitable for a car that spends a fair bit of time up and down mountains. I tried to contact them about it but they didn't reply :(

I'm far from an expert though so am happy to be corrected/have my mind put at rest about it all.
Yes I have seen the GSR airbox, I'm not sure how it compares to the Evolve in terms of gains or quality?

Talking about loading, I agree completely, I have been reading up and it looks like it's possible to retrofit the CSL MAP sensor which for me would complete a Maff-less setup?

Anyone here any experience of this?

You can flash a csl tune on to the later e46 m3 ecu i believe but I don't know if it can be done on ours.

From what I've seen and read, it looks like the evolve box is finished to a higher standard than the gsr version but then it does cost more. As for gains, I don't know. I doubt there will be much in it though.

Bilal-good to see you guys are now here and doing more stuff for our cars  If you get a moment, would you mind giving a bit of insight into the MAP sensor integration and if it's necessary/possible to do on our ecu.

Hi guys.

We have had some interest from this forum on the Z4M intake we are developing. Fingers crossed I'll be able to post up a thread shortly.
Great stuff.... Can't wait

Here is a snap of trial fit we had a couple of weeks back,

Looks impressive already but as mentioned by Paul she is heading back to Evolve soon for a proper fitting and testing, once everything is done I will update a thread accordingly

I'm hopefully finding out about the CSL DME, I've been pre-empted that it's wouldn't be an easy job so maybe not worth it over AlphaN. Also finding out about the MAP sensor

Have you also looked at the Karbonius airbox? The quality looks top notch and it's a reasonable price too, I've enquired about a group buy just to see 8)

Does anyone know if this is an oiled or dry filter? Thanks.

Didn't see a specific mention of that anywhere. Hopefully someone from Evolve will jump in and let us know soon!

Be good to hear what you find out.

The Karbonius box looks great-with the ability to fit the original end/snorkel its probably the most factory looking option short of remortgaging for a real one! Not sure how much cheaper it will work out in the end though, i think the Evolve kit comes with all the extra bits and bobs and obviously doesn't need an additional end piece buying.
