Z4M Front - What's needed and What's Not?

Hello all, I'm needing a little help on what parts are exactly required to fit a Z4M front bumper and Z4M bonnet. My car is a 3.0i pre-facelift but I have the following parts to make the conversion:

- Bumper
- Bonnet
- Face-lift bonnet release cable with both locks
- Centre grille

Do I really need to purchase Z4M arch-liners and Z4M undertray? What exactly is the difference in these?

Thanks

You need the undertray and ///M brake ducts but you can use non-M liners and cut out the pre-marked sections at the bottom of each one.

The ducts use the fog light flap so no cutting is required I don’t believe.

Not for the ducts, for the underbody. Can’t remember exactly, but I think it’s the M’s reinforcement plate that fouls the standard liner.

Check/cross reference the part numbers on www.realoem.com

Yeah tried that but the part numbers are completely different for both arch-liner lower corners and undertrays for the 3.0 and Z4M. They look exactly the same in the diagrams though... :?

Thanks! Do you know what exactly the difference is between the two? I had an aero front bumper on my Z4 with the stock undertray, but I then have also seen people put aero bumpers on their Z4M's. Surely if an aero bumper fits a 3.0 and a Z4M without changing undertrays (meaning that both bumpers must have the same mounting holes/alignment) then the trays can't really be that different can they? :idunno:

You NEED:
Bumper
Grill
Air ducts (left and right)

Optional (but recommended)
Air duct brackets (instead of just cable ties)
Lower corners (instead of modifying existing)
Undertray (instead it removing standard, or fabricating some kind of infill piece)

(Wheel arch liners are the same on both)

Bonnet is just a straight swap (well mine was, not sure on pre facelift?)

Ignore the paint flakes off the radiator bar (I’m replacing it)

Thanks Jingle, lovely car you have

Just out of curiosity, as this was quite confusing and annoying me earlier, I have seen people put Aero front bumpers on their Z4M's. The Aero bumper was a direct fit on mine with the standard undertray, which surely means that if the Aero front bumper fits both models without changing the undertray, the standard undertray really doesn't need to be replaced with an ///M or modified with an infill piece when fitting an M bumper??? :idunno:

Not seen an aero put on an //M personally... maybe they kept the Z4M undertray?

That's what I was wondering...

If an Aero bumper fits the Z4M undertray AND fits a standard non M undertray, then the mounting/screw holes underneath on my Aero and M bumpers must be the same, therefore not requiring a different undertray...

I'm sure I've probably overlooked something here as the part numbers for the undertray must be different for a reason. I'll need to get under the car and try and see for myself...

Never seen an aero bumper on an ///M, but if there was you’d need to find out what they did underneath. They may have trimmed down the cover or just overlapped or even removed.

There have been case on here of it getting ripped off though when fitted with an ///M bumper and not modified, so would not recommend just fitting the standard one as is.
