Z4M exhasut fit on standard Z4 (M54 RHD)?

Hi everyone,

I would appreciate your input on this guys. I'm looking at fitting a Z4m exhaust manifold (without cats RHD) on my Z4 3.0. I realise that the flange connection to the head is different but if I was to fab a new flange on the exhasut to match the existing flange, would it fit okay and the steering column not be in the way? I'm not concerned about the other end as I can sort this where it connects to the exhaust underneath the car. I just don't know whether the steering column is in the same position on the Z4 and the Z4M? Also, does th S54 engine sit in the same position as the M54 engine such that the exhaust ports would be in the same relative position to the steering column.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Al

I can take some pics under the bonnet of my M if it helps, also measurements if I can reach :)

Tbh, would it not be cheaper to get an after market performance manifold? Good luck with it though

Yeah that would be really helpful, thanks. I haven't been able to source a decatted exhaust manifold for my car whatsoever. There are loads of options for LHD vehicles and very reasonably priced too but no one seems to make one for a RHD Z4 3.0 as far as I can see. That is why I have chose to go down the route of trying to fit a Z4m exhaust with a modified flange to my Z. The exhaust manifold for the Z4m is same as the E46 M3 ( the decatted version) and I am able to get one of those at a reasonable price.

Some pics showing the engine looking down from drivers side would be good and also of the exhaust manifold as best you can. Also, if you can get one of the steering column that would be good so I can compare with mine to see if they look in the same position. These pics will hopefully show me the relative position of the exhaust ports to the steering column and help me determine whether the geometry is the same as my Z. If so, then a newly welded flange on the Z4 M or E46 M3 manifold would fit.

Thanks for your help

Al
