Z4M Coupe/Roadster friends..FI axle-back exhaust coming soon

Joe (Burt Reynolds aka JT aka JayT), Arash and I have been talking with Danny & Tony at Fast Intentions to have one of our cars in the jig and setup a groupbuy of the exhaust, that fits most of our needs.

Most of us want a little more grunt without spending $1800 for a catback that doesn't improve power over the clean BMW mid-section. FI themselves say they can't improve BMW's mid-pipe flow, but can add a bit of grunt (and hopefully power) with an axle back (flange, pipe, and muffler swap) setup, at half the competitors' price. If you want power, hi-flow cats are the way to go...

Anyway, given there's been interest, and a lot of us have leased the car with fantastic 2007 deals, we want something that's easy to swap back to stock (for me in 1.5 years), with a mellow & deep sound, and cheaper than the competition but with the same high quality materials for which FI is known.

I just spoke with Danny, and we're going to do it. Arash will leave his car for the jig, and Joe and I are going to push the group buy (on http://bmwgroupbuy.com) for a fantastic deal, and in production ASAP.

Please stay tuned...

Looks like a nice bit of kit, and for $900 I could be interested in getting one shipped to the UK.

Will keep you posted.

Hello again...

Arash dropped by FI this afternoon and they've come to an agreement on everything! He will hopefully have the car dropped off there next week.

More updates soon!

Keep us posted please and youtube it so we can see and here the results. it "sounds" interesting and might just be what my M Roadster needs.

You'll probably find that the biggest gain is from weight saving. The standard exhaust system is extremely heavy. I have fitted several Supersprint systems to mostly M3's and CSL's and the actual power increase is not the main concern, it's the vastly improved power to weight ratio that really makes the difference. Is this system much lighter than the standard one?

The weight savings can be good, but I've found a good amount of power with my BMS exhaust - especially after ESS's adaptive software. The main problem with getting power from the Z4 M's exhaust is the DME.
