Z4M Coupe Questions

Hello All:

I want to start by saying I know alot about cars, but very little about BMWs. I am a GM guy, my previous car was a Pontiac GTO, which has sadly gone to the great parking lot in the sky thanks to a girl who likes texting more than driving....

I am looking at a 2007 BMW Z4M Coupe. Yes thats right an M Coupe, which according to my brief reading on the internet is extremely rare. Its got 50k miles, Silver over Black interior, no mechanical or cosmetic flaws. I don't think these cars have very many options so there isnt much more to tell. I dont have any pictures at this time. I took a test drive in it tonight and really liked it. The only problem I had was I somehow managed to rip the shift knob off. I dunno if this is a common problem in BMWs but I saw the same thing happen in a Z3 a couple years ago. Really hair raising!!! Has anyone else experienced this?

As I said, I dont know much about BMWs other than that they seem to know how to build a drivers car. What is the going rate for these cars today? I have a hard time trusting the online pricing guides when there are less than 2000 of these cars in existence. They must have a hard time getting any real data. The opening offer was $25.5. I know I'm not getting ripped off at that price for sure, but how good of a deal is that? Is it a steal that I cant pass up? I know he would do $25k, i dont know if he would go lower than that. Are there any issues (other than the shift knob) that I should be looking for?
