What do you think? Would someone take this easily or be wary of cat c? I suppose I thought about it seems easy to get my hands on one of these love my 2.5i but.... Would love the extra!!
if you could get some pics of the damage that would sway my decision either way, really cheap way into z4m ownership and relatively low miles...
sadly the front end is all out of wak, the front bumper is all over the place , and either its out of line or the bonnet has has the leading edge repaired.
The interior is very scruffy for a relatively low mile car, and i just hate to see the bare carpets being exposed to the crap our feet drag in, I'm not to confident in the sellers, little things like that matter, but maybe they don't care so much on a CAT car??
Either way if your willing to do some tidying up, do your checks on the car, find out what the damage was and aim for 8995 and it could well be a large smile on your face for miles to come!
Didn't quite notice the bonnet initially however did see the bigger gap on the o/s around the light. Noticed the interior the lack of carpets...however nothing a good clean can't sort out. I've been trying to read up on whether or not good/bad idea on cat c/d, as you say do research find out what happened? How would I go about that though, the garage isn't around the corner...
But yeah have definetely been looking only adds 100 to my insurance which I thought was great!
Normally I'd not really have anything against a CAT car, as long as it's all been repaired properly. It can be a very good way to get a good car at a much reduced price. This is especially the case if it's a car one is going to keep long-term and not too concerned about re-sale value.
For CAT C that means a total loss pay-out i.e. damage beyond economic repair. On an old, 'cheap' car that can be a very, very minor 'tap' that could send it into that territory. I once had a BMW E28 528i that had suffered a very minor incident in a super-market car park which resulted in a dented bonnet and wing which cost less than £1K at a BMW Main-dealer prices to fix. Despite a letter from the BMW bodyshop manager to the insurance company confirming that it was very minor damage they still Cat C'd it:
However, a Z4M has never been a 'cheap' car and so to Cat C it, it must have sustained pretty significant damage.
That just looks terrible! It smacks of cheap/poor repairs . As mentioned above, the bonnet and nose look all over the place but also what does it tell you when it's got two mismatched Contis tyres on the front plus some make you've never even heard of on the rear of a 320 bhp sports car? Not exactly confidence inspiring, is it?
The wheels look s**t, the gear knob is completely worn, the interior looks generally minging and times appear to be so tight that it's even running with no fuel in the tank!
Was just pondering I suppose wasn't as if was round the corner to go have a look, but yeah think I'll just leave this one and save my £ for another day
I would but it's 325 miles away... Can only ask so much over a phone, would travel if I knew all was good but then 650 round trip seems a little much to go if it's not what's for me won't go by me as they say

Would depend where you were but I'd say 200 mile round trip, car is in Bedford, would say closer to Luton though, but I certainly wouldn't ask that of you, but thanks very much anyway good to know there are still some good people out there!
