Z4 Wind Deflector

My recently purchased Z4M doesn't have a wind deflector.

I have never seen one in the flesh so unsure what to purchase off eBay etc. or how they fit.

Some photos show a plastic one that appears to slide between the headrests and others are fabric that sits over the headrests - similar to the one on my Z3M.

This one for example, would i need anything else?

That looks like an OEM item. They work far better than the solid plastic one, IMHO, though they do reduce rearward vision in the dark.

Your Zed should already be fitted for one. Check between the head rests if the brackets are there. Also they are stored in the boot check it's not hiding in there on the rear bulkhead.

Hi
In addition to the wind deflector you would need the clips that attach to the roll hoops. the clips that store the deflector in the boot would also be handy.
Also if it has not had one fitted previously it may not have the deflectors that are fitted within each of the roll hoops.

Thanks guys

Here's mine at the moment. Nothing in the boot at all and i haven't got anything physical to compare it to...

Do these need a different hoop cover to go into or is it a case of cutting/drilling the existing one?

I've got the leather cover style deflector which came with the car... Works great but a bit gimpy looking :P

Mine was factory fitted, but I think it would be a case of drilling and fitting - unless you can find a breaker with them already fitted, or someone who is selling and would like to swap hoops...

So from the last two posts does this mean i need new roll hoops to accommodate the brackets?

Mine also doesn't have the mesh within the roll hoops that most seem to have...

The plastic/mesh roll hoop inserts are extras.

I see - thanks. I will order some of those.

Do the trims to clip the wind deflector in place on the side of the roll hoops clip on do they come as part of a replacement roll hoop?

I'm not sure tbh, my Zed came with the clips and inserts fitted

The clips are separate, there are threaded holes behind the plastic roll hoop covers, I did a post on where to drill the plastic covers a while ago, I’ll see if I can dig it out.

Here’s the thread, scroll down to my post with the measurements on where to drill the plastic hoop covers, sadly pics are no longer on the post but I have them on my phone, I’ll post them separate.

Here's a selection of pics with measurements on, you'll have to work out which pic goes with which stage in my post :oops

Hi Chaps.

Do the headrest mesh inserts need the roll hoops removing to access? I can remove a set from a trade in at work but wont have much time to do so.

Thanks!
