Driving to work this morning doing around 60, next thing I spot a deers face then bang, plastic , dust thrown into the air, turned of a nex junction ,extensive damage to front bumpers , driver light smashed to bits, headlight washer knacked and various parts of grill missing and couple huge dents on the bonnet

If I was a second or two later I don't know what would of happened as it would of smashed me straight on, who knows it could of rolled up bonnet, through or over windscreen and I had the roof down so I am pretty lucky I reckon

Sorry mate, must have been very very scary...glad you're ok, and know you must be feeling like crap.....don't know what else I can say........

They not let it get you down mate

Sorry to hear that, glad you are ok and hope you can get your car sorted without too much pain

When my dad was living in Weymouth he hit a deer and wrote his car off, they can make a real mess :(

Hey buddy, really sorry to hear about that, hope you're ok.

Most important thing is that you weren't injured, that said it's also very sad to hear your Zed was.

Hope she's fixed up soon and it doesn't set you back too much!

Yeah the more I think about the luckier I think I was, couldn't imagine what would of happened if the deer came through or
Even into the car

Oh no! You were lucky, could've been really nasty. Well, it was for the deer but you could've come off a lot worse.

Sorry to hear that G14RRV, we had the same last year - herd of deer decided to bolt over the road just in front of us, avoided all but the last one which took out a headlight, front bumper, wing mirror, bonnet and front wing - a complete mess - but it was all bodywork (and a water bottle :)) no damage to chassis or front members. Luckily it was the wife's Passat and not the zed

Hope its all sorted for you soon so you don't have to slum it in a Merc :D

Sorry to hear of the incident. Sadly, "Deer Vehicle Collisions" (DVC) are actually a lot more common than many of us realise.

The Highways Agency did a study of this - see the PDF at the bottom of http://www.highways.gov.uk/knowledge_compendium/publications/8DDDDDB6C722497E8FDE79E841E6F2C0.aspx - "Collisions of motor vehicles with deer have escalated over the past five decades in most countries across Europe including Britain. Recent studies supported by the Highways Agency indicate that the annual toll of deer vehicle collisions (DVCs) in Britain is now very likely to exceed 42,500 and may be as high as 74,000, and lead to several hundred human injuries and a number of human fatalities each year. Although DVCs are also a serious problem in Scotland, within the UK close to 80% are recorded in England where traffic volumes are close to nine fold greater."

Thats not nice, hope it get fixed.

How was the deer? Did it just run off?
