Z4 Undertray - correct part?

So......time to fix my front end (a bit of the undertray flew off yesterday on the M4 :-O)

I have been looking for the engine undertray and the only one I can find is this http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=321241989835&alt=web

I know quite a few people on here have changed their front bumpers so have had this out. Does it look like the right one/shape?

Looks kind of similar, but not quite right - not least because there should be a rubber rib across the middle of it. I don't have time to search for you, but have a look on realoem and you'll see what I mean. Tbh they are not much more from a stealer IIRC from when I replaced mine.

As bing says the picture def isnt it... Wrong shape, as the front sticks out more, and no rubber piece which goes under the radiator.

But maybe the pic isnt of the actual item - often the case on ebay.

£111 from Sytners and a further £70 for the lower bumper grille.

And thats before I look at the bumper.......happy days.

Seems there are few around. I assume most off breaking cars were broken when cars were damaged.

I was lucky and got a great condition lower grille off eBay for £40, but haven't seen many since.

Have you checked the air ducts (really lower side covers) that protect the corners of the underside where the horns and fogs are ? They're attached to the undertray IIRC - I had to get one of them when I got a new undertray...

I got mine for my M front from soper cost under a £100... So worth giving them a call.

Also along bings line of thought... Does your outside temp still work? The thermometer is in the passenger side lower cover and easily damaged.

Well every cloud......

Went to a bodyshop today and was told the undertray was not too bad and repairable.

Just need a lower grille (thinkimg of an aftermarket black one what are peoples thoughts?)

£450 to take off front and back, repair and respray. Soinds reasonable but have nothimg to compare to.
