Z4 specialist in/near London

Hi folks. I'm finally going to buy an e85 Z4 (after a few near misses), and I'd like to find a specialist near me to give it a check-up.

I'm in SW London, and would ideally like to find someone within an hour or so who can do things like roof motor and drain hole checking etc.

Has anyone had any success with specialists?
 
I’ve looked and tried locally (I’m SW5) but definitely head to Ross (RBM Hampshire) in Hook. He’s pretty busy these days but you can guarantee good work at a reasonable price by mechanics who know E85/86s inside out. They’ve done my roof motor relocation and a suspension refresh alongside annual servicing at a much better price than at a London specialist.
 
Gilbert's for BMW in Gunnersbury was my go to guy; not sure if he's still there as I moved out of London 2 years ago. But if he is there, I highly recommend; knowledgeable guy and no BS.

Gilbert’s was the specialist I tried first based on location. I found him pretty expensive for servicing given the very basic setup - i.e. a few trolley jacks in a shed. Seemed a nice chap though

Since then he has done an Inspection 2 service and fitted new rod bearing shells on my Z4M, also serviced my 3 Series and fitted new rear shocks to it. And the next nearest option I know of for getting a roof motor relocated is in Bristol!

If it helps I believe he now has a loan car too.
 
I can recommend West3 in Acton. Riyadh has looked after all my BMs for many years. E30, E34, E39, E61, Z4. + wife's E82. He specialises in BMW and Mercedes. Don't know if he has done a roof motor move or not but has been fine at anything I have thrown at him over the years. Very helpful and won't do things that don't need doing.

TWG Automotive in Camberley are also very good - Will has looked after all my BMWs for getting on 10 years now. Very knowledgeable chap and reasonable rates.

I've previously used The German Motor Company in Wandsworth (opposite Joe Macari) and found them to be thorough, a little expensive. Service was otherwise very good, communication was great - email quotes following every discussion - and the turnaround was fast.

I paid £240 labour + £80 consumables for the Inspection II.

Will try Autoworx next time as more local to me.

I used Birds BMW in Iver for the first time today. They are a little bit expensive but very helpful, clearly know their stuff and did a little job for me and didn’t charge for it.
Speaking to Kevin Bird afterwards about preventive maintenance and general Z4 things, I found him great to sound board and he gave really good insights and even talked me out of some future works.

No upsell and no drama. I would recommend based on my experience today.
