Not exactly a major issue and not sure whether its a SmartTop or BMW at fault.
Emptied shopping from boot with roof down as wasn't much of it. Closed boot or so I thought.
Later, lazily closed roof via remote and went about my business. Looked out of window a while later to see the roof half open.
I would have thought that if there was any problem like boot open, then roof operation would not go ahead as is the case if the tray is up.
Not a big deal to correct i.e. shut boot and close roof!
However if I hadn't noticed and one of the threatened thunder storms had happened ....
Moral is to always check. Lesson learned on this occasion without penalty.
