Z4 scale model advice?

I bought a Maisto brand 1/18 scale a while back and quite like it. I did a quick search and it looks as though they do not make it any longer. I did find this Amazon link that says there are a couple still available. The price is about what I believe I paid - very reasonable. Doors, hood (bonnet) and truck (boot) all open, but is only available with the top down (no additional hard top). http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Z4-1-18-Grey/dp/B0034EAKSG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_2

I got a Kyosho one from eBay (the same one in your link) second hand for about £30, so shop around. If there arent any ont eBay at the moment, wait a couple of weeks and some should turn up. Stick "search other countries" on and put in Kyosho Z4, gives you the best chance of finding one...

Just realised thats a Minichamps one in the link :P What I say still stands... Maybe

The Kyosho/Minichamp model is the best detailed 1/18th model you can get, much better than the Maisto, I have both of them. The Kyosho comes with a removeable closed hardtop and the engine bay is much more detailed, it even has the the two brace bars for the suspension towers on it. Although, the Maisto does actually have compressable sprung suspension.

A cheaper seller for the Kyosho here in sterling grey.

If you don't mind a smaller scale, the 1/24th Burago model is quite nice.

but if you really want to splash out :D get one of these 1/12th scale

Picked a titanium silver one with red leather up from a German seller the other week. Amazing detailing, with a fully foldable cloth roof and even working bonnet struts instead of hinges :o

have one of these sat on the bench in the garage waiting to be built, shame Tamiya never did a roadster version

I never really understood why people wanted models of cars they actually owned ... until I got my Z4.

I still don't understand it, but I want one. :)

Hoboy! A 1/18th scale model of a 2-inch stubby is going to be 0.111111 inches long! Gonna have some fun attaching that!

You're right ... I need to think this through ... :?

I have one of these too.
Fairly well detailed. working steering suspension, painted parts detailed underbonnet, interior, etc.

Not a top end collectors item but does its job on my office desk.

I never even knew I needed one till reading this thread .....
I had no choice ...... there was a button telling me to "buy it now" ....
so I did what it said .........

I've got a Maisto 1/18 in my office as well, it's very nice. It's blue, wish I could find a white one. But it does the trick, and it was only ~$12.00 US at Costco about a year ago.

Nah, don't like the wheels :tumbleweed:

In my office though I have 46" model of the 1934 J boat Endeavour, which is absolutely stunning.
