Z4 M40i or not?

As my footnote shows I have a e89 3.0 and a ZMC. Both are quite lovely. But I have too many cars (nice to have granted but a pain on the wallet). So what about swapping to a M40i auto? But only in Thundernight with ivory. I have A 240i also so that might have to go as well. But it does mean I have experience of the B58. Should I get a test drive or will that ultimately mean I will have to get one on the basis that it’s fundamentally better than all of them. Looks aside though. Comments please. I am cruiser who likes to hustle through bends but not as stop/start hard acceleration etc

Why not consider a Gr Supra 3.0 with same B58 engine. I've had 2 now Auto and manual and both were great though the manual edged it for me. Lots of power, very comfortable, look good and hold their value well too. I only sold mine as i missed the open top mx5 which i now have but prob buying a coupe with the balance from my sale, so best of both worlds

I guess it really depends on what you are looking for. If you’re consolidating the three you’ve stated the m40 will cover them.

I’ve own one for nearly two years and covered 36k miles as a daily driver. I’ve recently ordered an electric car through work and the m40 will be kept as a weekend/ summer second car as I genuinely can’t think of anything I’d swop it for without having to give something up that the G29 has or does.

It’s the first car I’ve owned since I started driving at 18 (I’m now 52) that I don’t think I could sell. It’s just perfect what I’m looking for in a sports car/cruiser/convertible.

If you test drive one I suspected you’ll be hooked. Great colour combo btw. I nearly went for that myself.

It’ll be interesting to see how secondhand prices go once they stop making it next year. Theres already less on the secondhand market than there was before they published that fact at the beginning of year.

Love my m40i. It’s my daily and I never get tired of driving it.

As for the values, I don’t recall the e89 holding its value particularly well when production ended. I hope they do go up though!
