Good to know you have reached a decision.

As you say they are very different cars and replacing them with just one would always involve compromise. As good as the N52 engine is the S54 just feels so special, and while I haven't driven anything with a B58 it sounds like it has other strengths.

The B58 is an incredible engine, power and torque everywhere and super efficient, especially mated to the ZF8, BUT I would have my E46 M3 back in a heartbeat, or more likely an MR/C with the S54. It’s all about the noise. B58 is too muted in my F22 (non gpf) and the G29 M40 I tried was surprisingly and disappointingly quieter even with the roof down!
