Z4 M COUPE WANTED

After owning one from new and enjoying 70,000 miles I now require another z4 m coupe.

Interlagos blue or space grey preferred, low mileage, low, if not one owner, frequent FSH essential.

Prices peaked last year, I have seen them sit or been reduced recently, 2006 space grey with 30,000 miles at £19,950 on PH, lots of owners, guy only owned it for 6 months, stated new project, then 9 points........, not sure why he is selling, interior from photos did not look immaculate, maybe I am being too fussy or doubtful of how genuine mileage is.

Another black one on AT claims 38,000 miles at £24,500 (re listed from a few months ago), seats looked like it had done 100,000, not 38,000, I asked for more photos and stated this, he stated it was part of a bmw collection and he had it since demo car, would say mileage had been altered, never heard back, is this easy to do as my car with 70,000 had quality seats, (it was motorway miles though and 10% of time had a passenger).

I may be in selling mine. Interlagos/Sepang with just under 25k miles if you are interested? pm me if you would like some further details....

Not sure if PMs are blocked for new/low post count users but... under a user's name to the left of their post is the word "Contact:" Click on the little empty text balloon/box to the right and you should then get a choice of sending a PM or an email.

Still looking for the right m coupe, sytner have one 30,000 miles £21,750, space grey.

Missed interlagos blue one recently with dick Lovett 08 with one owner.

One forum member is unsure on sale, had it detailed, unsure as to how much this covers cars faults, if at all.

Please let me know if immaculate examples are for sale.

Does anyone know if the engine is looked after how many miles would you expect to get from a z4 m coupe?

Friday missed out on 58 plate 25,000 miles grey with BMW sytner, offered 90% asking price with insp 2, pro detailing, repairs...... carried out, they did not reject initially and referred it to manager, I was informed someone had offered slightly higher.

I guess with BMW they can offer service/repairs and 12 month warranty which is peace of mind, I was advised it has to pass a stringent test. Manager also advised he had been tracking the car for 3 years and it was the most perfect example he had ever seen, doubtful when his colleague contradicted and advised it was a part ex which made sense, they should just be upfront, no need to fabricate. Looks like the lady owner liked to wear rings as the controls and gear knob seem scratched.

I am viewing another low mileage one this week, otherwise I am still looking for low mileage immaculate z4 m coupe if anyone is considering selling.

Thanks

I would not recommend buying a BMW AUC without carefully checking it over yourself. AUC just means it was never Cat C or D but it's no guarantee the car hasn't been in a significant prang and subsequently repaired. Dealer standards also vary.

I bought an E61 M5 that was AUC and noticed a vibration through the steering wheel on braking. The muppets at the dealership had fitted new pads on heavily worn discs that had gone past the wear limit. As the dealer was 250 miles away I declined to bring the car back to them and had a local dealer inspect the brakes - they confirmed the discs were heavily worn and that I couldn't have done so in the 300 miles I put onto the car. The supplying dealer had to pay my local dealer to fit new discs and new pads. They tried to pull a fast one and got their fingers burned.

The automatic cargo cover also didn't work - I noticed this at the time of collecting the car, it was noted on the paperwork and I was told I could put a warranty claim in and it would get sorted. When I tried to do so I was told it was classified as trim and not covered. The supplying dealer basically shrugged their shoulders and said sorry but that I would have to pay for the repair unless I brought it back to them. I made a phone call to BMW GB rather than the 500 mile round trip and the supplying dealer again paid my local dealer to fix the fault.

So caveat emptor still v much applies with a BMW AUC.

£27,500 ?!?!? You can buy my car for a full third less and with its suspension the way it should have been from the factory it's arguably the better car unless you don't plan to actually drive it.

My 2006 one has done over 150,000 miles - although 'only' 130,000 on its 2nd engine.

Don't know how the car was treated before I bought it at 10,000 miles, but it's been over-serviced since then and has done about 20,000 miles a year of fast cruising on motorways/autobahns, and about 5,000 miles a year of hooning.

I do 2-3 oil services a year, an Insp.2 every year (spark plugs & gearbox/diff oils on top of Insp.1); tyres last about 40,000 miles for the fronts and 20,000 for the rears; brake fluid replaced at least annually.

It's off the road at the moment, awaiting it's final piece of insurance work (the diff) (from an accident in December 2015) which has now arrived from BMW and will be fitted in September. Average mileage will go down to about 5,000 miles a year from now on, as I've got a diesel for the daily hack and may be moving job anyway.

Initial insurance valuation for a 150k mile Z4MC with individual paint/interior and my factory options was £9600 (wasn't actually offered that for mine as they had to make an adjustment for the aftermarket modifications which took this up to about £14.5k).

Hi,
I have a 57 Z4MC with 33K miles, Black red leather, satnav, Bluetooth, Bose. Original paint, no accidents, I've owned for 4 years previous before me for 2. Last major service late 2011 21K next major service due in 500 miles. In the interim I had the oil, filter and brake fluid changed in 2013 and 2015. Car is in excellent condition inside and out. I have pictures I can send you.
