Does anyone experience a rumble / noise with medium to heavy breaking. I know it sounds like the ABS but I'm not braking that hard and still getting a noise + small vibration through the pedal.

Could it be warped discs? Any other suggestions...is it normal?

I don't think thats normal but sometimes I do feeel slight rumbleing on the pedal but not how you describe.

It could be the discs, these discs do make some strange noises, same as the M3 really.

Does the steering wheel do crazy when you brake hard? If not then nothing to worry about.

Might also be worth (when the brakes are cold) getting a washer jet on the discs to clear the carbon deposits.

If you're running an M then try taking each wheel off and very carefully cleaning each drill hole in the discs with a drill bit. They tend to fill up over time with brake deposits and general road gunge. It will also improve the performance of the braking system as the cross drills are there to aid cooling.

Also make sure that you drive and heat/clean the discs after every wash or after a lot of rain as the surface will corrode very quickly and give you a nasty rumble when you brake until clean again, by which time you might have scored the discs. Something that Porsche owners (or exPorsche owners can testify to being a big issue on their cars).

The discs look like they need a good clean. There certainly isn't any vibration through the steering wheel. I'll get the pressure washer out this weekend!

Many thanks
