Z4 Lurker... Now Is The Time To Buy! (I Think...)

Dream Car:
Power hard top (the one that folds down into the boot… however, told that takes up 60% of boot space?!)
Black
3.0/3.0si
Manual Gearbox
Red leather interior/or Red split interior.
Around 08 plate.
Less than 80k on clock
18” ‘pretty’ rims (minimum), although told handling suffers massively on 19s.
Circa £12,000 willing to go to £14,000 if includes SatNav – which is highly desirable.

Dont think my OP has changed in the slightest.

We've established (because I didnt know) that the car im looking for is an E89 (because of my comments wanting a power hard top)

And that because the E89 only came out in 09, my "Around 08 plate" is now - "2009 onwards".

Of course 'ideally' id like to spend less money - but up to £14,000 id be comfortable with, which seems to still put me in "E89 2009 + Toys" bracket.

Like the others have said, perhaps read the links again so you know what you're after. If it's an E89 with a semi decent spec then you'll need to up your budget.

Again, the hood has never changed - once id established the metal hood was the E89 - then thats the car I would like.

The other questions around "Whats a 35i?" is because those links might list it - but it doesnt say anything about them.

I.e. can you get a 2.0L in a 35i?

if im after a 3.0 - those Wikipedia articles dont seem to say anything about the engine sizes

Edit: I stand corrected, there is a bit at the top that says a 3.0 is a N(52/54)B30 - and that if I scroll down and compare that to the engines listed in the iDrive section - id need a 30i/35i, where the 35i has better BHP.

Id say this is the closest ive seen so far.

Failings to the 'dream' list is that its white with black interior, would also look to look for nice rims than 17s.

But its close. Real close.

This one is slightly north of price, but everything except the nice red interior (unless ive missed anything obvious)

If you're on the fence about whether to buy one, remember that this is the best possible time of the year to buy one! BMW have taken a whopping 6k off mine!

Mate, seriously.

Do your research. You have said that you are definitely not looking for an M but have linked an autotrader sale to an M saying that you really like it (that is listed for £16.5k, but your budget is £10k - you would expect sat nav for that price but have no clue about the type of car it is??)

You then ask ridiculous questions about diesel engines. I would have thought that if you were actually serious about getting a Z4 you would already know the answers to these basic questions.

Your budget then goes from 10k to 14k?! When yiou have expressed an interest in a £16.5k M that you have previously said you dont want.

To be honest I am very surprised that people are still entertaining your questions but that gives an idea of the type of nice people that are on this forum.

I would guess that in 10 years you wont have bought a Z4 (just a guess mind).

I think this forum is great with the people on here and I just wish I could find the time to go to one of the meets. I would most likely learn out a lot about the Z4s.

But back to the car search, seriously do some research about what you want and go from there.

Best of Luck.
