z4 headliner/under visor rattle

So lately i noticed that when I'm driving on the freeway with my top up I heard a rattle above the visor on my passenger side. It like some loose screw is inside the headliner bezel piece. I also noticed that the mirror door for my visor won't open.

Does anyone have the manual to find where the screws are to remove the headliner/bezel? Also, Has anyone experience this rattle before? And anyone else can't open there mirror on the visor?

You mean the plastic trim on the lower leading edge of the roof itself, and not the lower trim of the windshield headrail that holds the visors right? That's got to be annoying! There's this Russian site, in Russian of course, the pictures may be enough. Google translate does some funny things with some technical terms, but you can sort of make sense of it.

The last picture appears to be related to headliner removal, not the trim/bezel piece.

The mirror door issue is odd, there's little to go wrong there. Has the car spent time in extreme heat? Maybe the plastic warped, causing the door to become wedged. The only other explanation I could think of is someone intentionally caused it to not open though I can't imagine why.

I believe the sound is coming from the windshield side... I also might think it is the metal hooks that the roof hooks to the windshield part might be rattling?

Ah, OK, then this page:

The roof hooks would sound a fair bit more substantial than a screw rattling around. You could try manipulating them with some tool to try and generate a noise. The result would confirm or discount your suspicion. The hooks would be very unlikely to rattle with the roof engaged. Does this happen with the roof up or down or both?

Sometimes plastic trim parts can rub together, causing a creaking noise not that different from a rattle. Poke around at joints and see if any noise is generated.

Hi. I am also experiencing a rattle in my roof and a piece of plastic that supports the liner has come loose. BCWORKZ do you have a manual or a similar guide on how to remove the liner completely from the roof.

It's in the TIS. I have a copy, but reproducing pages leaves much to be desired. You can get your own copy off flea bay for less than a tenner. For a preview look at tis.bmwcats.com (in Russian) via Google translate or similar. You will see the instructions are terse and the illustrations are not very...um...illustrative. It's all that there is though AFAIK, especially now that shipkiller has packed it in
