Z4 Hardtop Question

So I have been interested in buying a hardtop from a guy I know that happens to have one, he doesn't even own a Z4! My question though is this: there is a fin on the backside that runs the length of the rear right above the rear window, and I hate it. Is this piece removable or can it be modified to be taken off? I think it would look much slicker and more aggressive without the odd rainbow arch across the rear. Pictures below to clarify.

A better photo of the part in question, it seems to be a separate piece but I'm just curious if anyone knows how to remove it.

You can remove the spoiler, but iirc the headliner needs to be taken off? There's probably a how to on here from when people have got them resprayed

Ay, that's my hard top :wink:

Think they were torx screws, 2 each side and it will come off. Mine came off okay but imagine it would differ depending on how much dust and grime had settled between the joint. Would also need to remove all the headlining which is a bit of a PITA. More so getting it back on!

I think it looks much better with it. Also would need to use bodyfiller as I'm sure the spoiler has a recess where the screws are. Then the holes would need to be plugged too!
