After a very long search I settled on a nicely kept 2006 2.0 Z4 with 64000km on the clock. I live in Cape Town and drove it down from Middelburg some 1560km away through the Karoo desert. The car was in fact a very nice cruiser and the aircon kept me cool through 40 degrees celcius and some really serious cross winds. I'm aspiring to a 3.0si or M roadster, but the budget was crunching and I had to be sensible while entertaining my love for the Z4. The 2.0 is surprisingly lively at sea level in the Cape Winelands, and I'm looking forward to some fun twisty mountain driving. It will take a lot of getting used to for a daily driver, but the biggest problem is that I don't want to get out of the car when I arrive at work.

This forum has been an incredible source of information for my obsession with the Z4!

Hi and welcome.

That's some trip home - at least you must be used to the car.

You're definitely in the right place to be a Z4 fanatic - there are quite a few on here.

Welcome to the forum, great photos by the way. The roads look nice and smooth out there, liking the Land cruiser, handy for the snow

Welcome! I loved the roads around Cape Town and along the garden route, especially the mountain passes into Franschhoek and coastal route from Somerset west out to plett. Wish I had something a bit more fun than the fortuner. Enjoy them in the z
