Folks

Hoping someone can help me...

Must admit i'm assuming the worst!

Just drove the Z4 home from work, and on the way home i'm sure i saw what looked like a big puff/ball of smoke come out of the back as I was driving.

This was followed by the car seeming to lose some responsiveness, seems abit jerky to drive, and doesnt accelerate very well now. Engine sounds abit "clicky" as well.

As i said above i'm kind of thinking maybe its the worst and head gasket? - although having never had this go on me before i wouldnt really know the systems. Enginer wise the operating temp on the gauge hasn't changed.

It's a 03 plate 2.5 i drive

Before i take it to get looked at tomorrow, and advice greatfully appreciated

Thanks

Rich

Have you popped the bonnet and taken a look at the side if the cylinder head area mate? Does it look like there has been a loss of fluid or oil on the side of the head are? I had a head gasket go on a previous motor and there was a fair amount of mess on the exhaust manifold side.

Do you have a good indi specialist near you? I'm assuming you don't have the extended warranty?

Pete

Did pop the hood, but dont remember seeing anything - I'll have a check in the morning in daylight for that, so thanks for the suggestion.

No warranty anymore i'm afraid, and never had a problem yet to need an indi specialist - so looks like i may need to get hunting
