Z4 E85 one week on - E46 Seat challenge

Well I have now owned my Z4 for one week and got to say - love it! Great engineering and loads of fun to work on and drive.

The challenge I have now got is fitting in the E46 power memory seats I have to replace the broken ones in the car. So far, disconnected battery, changed over the seat tensioners and electrics on the underside of the seats, so all good.

Challenge I have is that there is no wiring loom for them in the car! Plenty of great threads on here about making looms etc and the parts needed to do that - unless of course there is someone with a ready made loom / easier / better suggestion?

There is no advantage in changing the complete loom even though you could source one from a zed being broken. You’ll only need new wires for 12v, gnd and k-bus, and possibly for heating if you are missing them as well. Crimping tool and connectors are probably the hardest parts to source from ebay. Access to the fuse box and the grounding point needs some minor dismantling but everything is doable in a couple of hours. TIS, WDS and the threads you mentioned certainly helps in this hobby :)
