Z4 E85 3.0

Hello,

I've been looking for 3.0 E85 for a while. I'm based in S Wales and unfortunately we still have travel restrictions so I'm quite limited with my search area.

Condition and service history more important than mileage. Heated seats preferably. Budget is around £4k.

If anyone knows of anything coming up for sale please let me know.

Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your search.

Don't forget we'd like to see photos once you have found your Z4!

Hi,

I have a 53 plate 3.0L beauty, it is the unusual burgundy, with cream trim. It has 95k miles (I think - and can check when off the computer), excellent bodywork, I have recently spent £359 on refurbishing the wheels, and am in the process of getting the AC condenser fixed... so two big expenses done

I bought it last year for £4000, so with the expense spent on it, I'll take the hit and sell it for £4001 (I need to tell the wife I sold it for more than I bought it  )

It has Heated seats, Bluetooth music (slightly temperamental Grom bluetooth), Nav unit, cruise control (I added on), cup holders....

My second daughter needs a car, so I'm selling to fund something that we can share...

cheers.

Dan

Hi Dan

Do you have any photos of the car you can send over? Whereabouts are you based? Does the car come with FSH?

Cheers

The OP wants to sell a 17 year old car that he's had for a year for £1 more than he bought it for??? Don't think so somehow! Regardless what he's spent on wheel refurbishment etc (never recoverable) it's still £5-700 overpriced imop

Don’t agree on that. Could be a minter, and still a great buy. These won’t lose much now, especially in good nick.

This is blatant thread spoiling, if this is genuinely your opinion the politely PM the seller. BUT, what is your expert opinion based on... feel free to PM me and keep this off thread

This could be a gem for £4001.... I’ve no idea, but neither do you

Its NOT blatant thread spoiling, it's my genuine opinion that I'm entitled to share on a forum just like you are. My 'expert opinion' as you put it is based on buying and selling cars for the last 37 years! What's YOUR opinion based on may I ask?

Have you seen this car?
Do you know what condition it is in?
Do you know if the person selling it now over or underpaid for it?
Have you not stated that it is significantly over-priced?
Why should it be worth significantly less now than when the current owner bought it, when he has apparently rectified a number of issues and it’s an old, but still desirable car?..... just because more time has passed?

I agree that forums are for sharing opinions, and like arseholes, everyone has one.... but this is a wanted thread (not yours incidentally) and you’re slating someone for offering a car the buyer may (or may not to be fair) be interested in when you can’t honestly answer the first three questions above?

Do you own a Z4?

I agree with True-Blue, valuing a car someone hasn’t seen is folly imho, plus just because you CAN say something doesn’t necessarily mean you SHOULD.

What wheels has the seller in questions car got..? Are they OEM CSL’s made to fit refurbed so approx 900-1k, are they £4K’s worth of original BBS LM’s...? You don’t know.
What condition are the brakes in...? Are they new all round or do they need replacing..? Seller hasn’t said.
Same with tyres...
Exhaust...
Has it got zenons...?
Has it got side top covers...?
Has it got the 6 speaker or 10 speaker DSP system...?
What are the carpets like...?
Has it been garaged or spent its life outside....?

The list can go on and on and on. Pretty damn hard to value a car like a Z4 without having seen it and it’s condition, service history and extras or lack of imho.

Agreed, £4,001 doesn't look unreasonable for a Merlot 3.0 litre with cream leather on 95K and without seeing it or knowing more of its history who can say whether the price is fair or not?

FWIW I bought my 1st Coupe in 2014 and sold it 8K miles later in 2016 to a forum member for a few hundred pounds more than I paid, but the buyer knew that and had no issue with it. Other than an oil service it had refurbed wheels and a new electric water pump ( ) in my ownership.

If buyer and seller are both happy the price has to be fair!

Seems like my Dangleberries wants to buy a car for £2k and punt it on for a profit.

Typical dealer, of 37 years.
